Short-Term Running Goals:

I really need to develop new goals.  It's been a busy year both professionally (field work) and personally (wedding, move,...)

It's time to get back on track and commit to some racing goals for next year.

Long-Term Running Goals:

The long-term goals are much easier--to stay healthy and happy! 

Personal:

Live in Broad Run, VA with my wife; work at US Geological Survey.  Baby cat running around to catch mice in our old house.

1.5 hours lifting.  Tough week of field work to come this week--11-12 hour days drilling in fairly intense heat.  Needless to say, not doing much outside after work.

Six miles back on the WOD near my house.  I was in Michigan for a week, and then in Pennsylvania for a week, and I am currently in Maryland...hence the erratic entries (or lack thereof completely).

Got dropped off at the EAston YMCA by my coworker, swam for 35 minutes, lifted for 40 (back and bi's, some abs and shoulders), and ran back to the Days Inn.

Zero running miles today, ~1.5 hours mountain biking instead at Schaeffer Farms near Gaithersburg.  A stinking good time...it's been way too long!

6 miles on the WOD near home.  I have a tough time warming up these days--it takes me ~3 miles to do a sub-8:00.  Certainly due to low mileage for so long, so I'm not worried, but my mind still thinks I'm in better shape, so I get a bit disgruntled sometimes.  But then I sit back and realize how nice it is to be running, and it all drifts away.

Spent some time in they gym as well--chest, tris, abs.

am: Registered for the Luray Triathlon.  Just a little sprint, but it should be fun!!

pm: 8 miles on the WOD. I had a mental block going on that told me that "my run" was 6 miles, so I said "screw that" and tacked on a couple more and felt way better than most of my 6'ers. Averaged exactly 8:00 miles. Gotta get that speed back...
