Running Accomplishments:

I don't really keep good track, but here's what I found online:

Canyonlands Half '08: 1:34:35

Cherry Blossom 10 miler '08: 1:10:09 (alias jonathon strong)

Jingle All the Way 10k '08: 41:46

Short-Term Running Goals:

I really need to develop new goals.  It's been a busy year both professionally (field work) and personally (wedding, move,...)

It's time to get back on track and commit to some racing goals for next year.

Long-Term Running Goals:

The long-term goals are much easier--to stay healthy and happy!

Personal:

Live in Broad Run, VA with my wife; work at US Geological Survey.  Baby cat running around to catch mice in our old house.

5 miles at ~7:30 again.  A fairly brisk morning, but nothing like yesterday.  The snow started falling when i was doing my post-run stretching, and is supposed to continue for a couple hours.  I found myself thinking nasty thoughts when I ran past all those DC runners who, for whatever reason, can't seem to conjure the energy say "hi" or wave or even make eye contact.  I mean seriously.  Maybe I'm blinded and therefore simply can't see their faces on nice sunrise days, and so I just THINK people are looking in my direction with smiles on their faces, as I do, thus making me look like a proverbial idiot every time i run past someone with a big ol' grin on my face.  "Hi everybody!".

(it was a good run today, by the way.)

I found the same thing when I lived in Phoenix. People wouldn't ever give you a nod or made eye contact, let alone say "hello". It was a "me me me" urban jungle. You're not in Cutlerville anymore!

You need to find you a little hot granola girl to run with, then you won't even notice. Actually, you might notice that all of the sudden everyone will start waving or saying hi as you run by!

I think there's maybe one other person in my whole neighborhood that I even seen out running, so I don't get many hellos either. Could also be the rainy winter that has us all on suicide watch too. C'mon daylight savings time!

Any training since then?
