Short-Term Running Goals:
I really need to develop new goals. It's been a busy year both professionally (field work) and personally (wedding, move,...) It's time to get back on track and commit to some racing goals for next year.
Long-Term Running Goals: The long-term goals are much easier--to stay healthy and happy!
Personal: Live in Broad Run, VA with my wife; work at US Geological Survey. Baby cat running around to catch mice in our old house.

8 miles on the WOD heading west from home. My legs were pretty heavy at first, and then they remained heavy. The whole time. I was on autopilot the last two miles, so it didn't matter by then anyway. Averaged exactly 8:00 pace.
Hiked 5 miles in the evening out at Annapolis Rocks and came way too close to getting it from a Copperhead. God was looking out for us this time... |

noon: 6 miles on the Reston trails with O'Connor. We were both feeling a bit sluggish today, especially at first, but we sped it up a bit by the end. Probably averaged slightly slower than 8:00 pace.
pm: 12 mile roundtrip liesurely bike ride to Vienna for frozen custard. Gorgeous evening! |

noon: 2200 meters in the pool. Good solid workout, and don't feel too beat afterward. I'm afraid I'm getting in better swimming shape than running shape.

noon: Six miles on the WOD out in Reston with O'Connor. HOT. But felt pretty stinking good, given the slow pace...

am: exactly six miles on the WOD from my house to the Vienna Inn for breakfast. 2 eggs, sausage (patties), rye toast, american fries, coffee. delicious. the run was...ok, but not as good as the food. too humid for my blood. no watch; wanted to simply enjoy and forget about pace. happy friday. |
