Today I ran the six mile out-and-back on the roads from home and decided to bump up the intensity a notch. I've been in auto pilot for quite some time; being overly conservative so as not to burn anything out. Last night it dawned on me that this is dumb and that there's no reason to not have a fun, fast run because I'm not running any races any time soon anyway. Anyway, I cut 3.5 minutes off my usual time and today (wednesday) I feel great. It's weird...like I forgot all about speed workouts. |
