Running Accomplishments:

I don't really keep good track, but here's what I found online:

Canyonlands Half '08: 1:34:35

Cherry Blossom 10 miler '08: 1:10:09 (alias jonathon strong)

Jingle All the Way 10k '08: 41:46

Short-Term Running Goals:

I really need to develop new goals.  It's been a busy year both professionally (field work) and personally (wedding, move,...)

It's time to get back on track and commit to some racing goals for next year.

Long-Term Running Goals:

The long-term goals are much easier--to stay healthy and happy!

Personal:

Live in Broad Run, VA with my wife; work at US Geological Survey.  Baby cat running around to catch mice in our old house.

A phenomenal thunderstorm run!  I ran directly into the eye of a pretty intense weather system with lightning flashing all around me.   I was completely soaked ~15 feet from my front door and loving every second of it.  It was all fun and games until I realized that lightning was striking alarmingly close to the very large electrical poles that lead to the sub-station near my house...and that I have to run along for the last 3 miles of the run.  I didn't die, so it was hugely successful!

Were you running on the WOD by the EFC metro at the top of the hill? Sounds like that's where you were.

You bet!

And that's right where I live. 19th road. You familiar with it?

You ran through the storm too? And I thought I was so tough and special :)

Let's hope for more storms soon... well... maybe not that much...

I see you bike to work too - I did that until my bike got stolen (second bike stolen in DC in 5 years) - make sure you lock up yours really good, sadly we don't live in a very safe place...

There's just nothing like running in a brutal storm. It starts a little fire inside and you remember you're alive.

Bummer on the bikes, man. I've just had an old cruiser stolen so far, but my road and mtn bikes are safe in the basement, and locked anywhere else.

Yeah...i know exactly where that is. I take my dog to the dogpark down that way quite a bit so he can get rid of his excessive energy.
