Short-Term Running Goals:
I really need to develop new goals. It's been a busy year both professionally (field work) and personally (wedding, move,...) It's time to get back on track and commit to some racing goals for next year.
Long-Term Running Goals: The long-term goals are much easier--to stay healthy and happy!
Personal: Live in Broad Run, VA with my wife; work at US Geological Survey. Baby cat running around to catch mice in our old house.

| | 8 miles on the panhandle trail in Pittsburgh. Last minute trip up north for family things led me to a GORGEOUS run. I may have slightly overdone it, though, as my knees are not having a good time of it. | Add Comment |
| | Gym day--pretty generalized upper body workout. The knees are still a little achy from Monday's run, and I'm not sure why, so I just completely laid off today. | Add Comment |
| | I took the new bike out tonight to the Difficult Run trail system in Reston. The quick and short of it is that it's an absolute cream-puff. I can't believe how the thing climbs, corners, and handles obstacles. I effortlessly and smoothly roll over things that used to just about bounce me off the trail, and that ain't no exaggeration. Having the lockout was a bit awkward at first, but I've already grown quite used to it and was using it for pretty much every hill climb by the end of the ride. I have to do some minor tweaks to get the geometry closer to my own (mainly lengthen it--bring the seat back a tad and put a longer stem on it), but otherwise she's good to go! | Comments(1) |

| | This was probably more like a 7 mile run, but since I brought no watch and I'm not sure, I'll call it 6. This was one of those absolutely perfect beach runs--great weather, compacted sand, high noon, followed by a nice dip in the water. Surreal. | Add Comment |
